HealthPartners, SEIU Healthcare reach contract agreement.

Last update: February 10, 2008 - 7:35 PM

HealthPartners and SEIU Healthcare have reached agreement on a new three-year labor contract.

If ratified, the deal would cover 1,500 non-physician employees who work in HealthPartners clinics in Minnesota and avoid a possible strike.

The previous deal expired last month. A two-day strike was scheduled to start Wednesday. Employees will vote on the agreement Tuesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

SEIU (Service Employees International Union) represents health care workers including registered nurses, clerical workers, technicians and other hospital employees.

HealthPartners serves more than 1 million medical and dental health plan members nationwide.
