Two appeals question site plan for St. Paul Trader Joe's

The appeals were filed this week against the St. Paul Planning Commission's unanimous approval.

Two appeals were filed this week against the St. Paul Planning Commission's unanimous approval of the site plan for a proposed Trader Joe's grocery store.

One appeal questioned whether the proposed site at the southeast corner of Randolph Avenue and Lexington Parkway involves parkland, and the other asks for changes such as lengthening a sound wall and adding parking restrictions. The store, another building and a parking structure are planned for the site.

A public hearing will be held Feb. 20 before the City Council. The council will vote on the specific appeals, but major changes to the project are unlikely.
