Woman hit by train and killed in St. Cloud

A 37-year-old woman was hit by a train in St. Cloud and killed, authorities said Monday.

The woman, whose identity has yet to be released, was struck shortly before midnight Sunday at the tracks at E. St. Germain Street, according to police.

The woman was hit by a freight train near the Amtrak station.

When officers arrived, the woman was breathing and had a pulse, police said. She was taken to St. Cloud Hospital and died soon after.

Police are saying that the woman's death appears to be accidental.
