A Robbinsdale man on probation for groping a woman in a stranger attack last fall in Roseville stands accused of a similar assault on a 19-year-old woman last week in Minneapolis.

Anthony L. Farrar, 23, was charged Tuesday in Hennepin County District Court with fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct and was jailed pending a Wednesday court appearance.

Farrar pleaded guilty last fall to the same charge in Ramsey County. He was placed on supervised probation for 10 years and ordered to register as a sex offender.

In the latest incident, according to Minneapolis police:

A woman told police that a man made small talk with her about 1:30 a.m. Thursday as she waited after work to get on a Metro Transit bus near 4th Street and Chicago Avenue S. The man touched her buttocks and walked away, only to return and follow the woman onto the bus.

The woman got off at her stop in the 2400 block of SE. Delaware Street. The man grabbed her and dragged her between two buildings. He fondled her breasts, thrust his hips against her and put his hand over her mouth. After she screamed, he ran away.

Thanks to police interviews and video surveillance, investigators identified Farrar as the suspect and arrested him Saturday.
