In addition to hosting the Twins, Vikings, Gophers football and baseball and, at their beginning, the Timberwolves, the Dome hosted the 1985 Major League All-Star Game, eight games of the 1987 and 1991 World Series, Super Bowl XXVI in 1992, the 1998-99 NFC Championship and the NCAA Final Four twice (1992, 2001). It is the only venue to host a baseball All-Star Game, a Super Bowl, an NCAA Final Four and a World Series. It has hosted many other sporting events, including several high school championships, namely the Prep Bowl.MUSIC AT THE DOME
With its ability to hold about 60,000 fans for concerts, the Dome was a hot spot for stadium tours during the 1980s and '90s. Some of the bigger shows:
• June 26, 1986: Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan and Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers
• May 24, 1988: Pink Floyd. It came back in 1994.
• July 13, 1988: Monsters of Rock Tour, with Van Halen, Metallica, the Scorpions
• Nov. 29-30, 1989: The Rolling Stones, the Steel Wheels Tour. The Stones returned on Dec. 11, 1994.

• Sept. 15, 1992: Metallica and Guns N' Roses
• May 23, 1993: Paul McCartney
• June 22, 1997: Black Sabbath and Ozzfest
• Oct. 29, 1997: U2, PopMart Tour
