A big lottery ticket was purchased this weekend in the little state of Rhode Island.

Lottery officials said Sunday that one ticket from the Ocean State is a Powerball winner, with the payout of $336,366,229. The winning numbers were 01-10-37-52-57, with a Powerball of 11. The ticket holder has yet to come forward.

The jackpot is based on taking the winnings in a 20-year annuity. The total shrinks to $209,966,435 (before taxes) if the money is collected all at once.

This jackpot rolled over 13 times as each set of numbers failed to win. Because of rising sales, the jackpot nearly doubled from $173.5 million on Feb. 1.

One ticket bought in Minnesota matched all but the Powerball number Saturday night, state lottery spokeswoman Debbie Hoffmann said Sunday. Even so, that's good enough for $1 million.

On Jan. 15, the game went from $1 to $2 per ticket, creating bigger starting jackpots and larger jumps in the eventual payouts between each drawing without a winner.

This is the game's the fifth-highest jackpot in its history, which is played in Minnesota, 41 other states, Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The jackpot for Wednesday's drawing reverts back to its nothing-to-sneeze-at base of $40 million ($25 million lump sum).

The largest Powerball jackpot hit was $365 million, claimed in 2006 by eight workers in a Nebraska meat-packing plant. They chose the lump-sum payment of $177 million.

The biggest Powerball payout on a Minnesota ticket came in August, when Tom and Kathleen Morris of Burnsville hit the $228.9 million jackpot. The Morrises took the money in a single payment of $123.6 million ($83.7 million after taxes).

Also over the weekend, Minnesota State Lottery officials said a winning Gopher 5 ticket sold in Faribault County was worth nearly $1.3 million. The ticket was sold for Friday's drawing. The ticket matched the winning numbers of 3, 4, 17, 29, and 34. The store that sold Friday's winning ticket will receive a $5,000 bonus.

Lottery spokeswoman Jenny Canfield says it's the second million-dollar ticket sold in less than two months. A Duluth player won a jackpot worth $1.2 million on the day after Christmas.

Gopher 5 drawings are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Players pick five numbers from 1 to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot of at least $100,000.
