Authorities have identified the man who was run over and killed while lying on a central Minnesota highway.

Patrick A. Kronbeck, of Little Falls, Minn., was struck by a van early Monday near Camp Ripley, according to the State Patrol.

The crash happened shortly before 2 a.m. on Hwy. 115, about a mile west of Hwy. 371, the patrol said.

Gary L. McDuffee, 58, of Little Falls was driving east on Hwy. 115, when he hit Kronbeck, according to the patrol.

Although the victim was struck near the camp's front gate, he had no association with the National Guard facility, the patrol said.

McDuffee was not hurt, and there was no indication that he had been drinking, the patrol added.
