HONORING MARIS

Because of uncertain weather, the Yankees postponed the ceremony for the 50th anniversary of Roger Maris’ 61st home run in 1961 until Saturday. The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2:35 p.m., before the Yankees-Red Sox game at 3:10 p.m.

• Actor Billy Crystal, who produced the movie "61*," will emcee the on-field ceremony that is expected to include five of Maris' teammates from the 1961 squad: Yogi Berra, Whitey Ford, Moose Skowron, Bobby Richardson and Bob Cerv.

• Mickey Mantle's two sons, David and Danny, have been invited, as well as the Maris family, including Maris' widow, Pat, and their six children. Sal Durante, who caught the 61st home run ball, and Frank Prudenti, the 1961 Yankees bat boy, are also expected to attend.

• Cheryl Howard, daughter of the late Yankees catcher Elston Howard, also a Maris teammate, will sing the National Anthem.

• Following a video tribute, the Yankees Foundation will present a donation to the Roger Maris Cancer Center in Fargo.
