Thief River Falls man dies in roll over accident

Driver went off Hwy. 59 and vehicle rolled

A Thief River Falls man died early today in a one-vehicle accident in Red Lake County, the Minnesota State Patrol said.

The 23-year-old victim, whose name has not been released, was  northbound on Hwy. 59 around 2 a.m. when he lost control of his 1997 Mercury Sable while navigating a curve 3 miles north of Plummer, Minn. The vehicle  went off the right side of the road and  rolled over. The victim was ejected and died at the scene, the patrol said.

The man was alone in the vehicle. It was unclear if he was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

The crash is under investigation.
