The Minnesota State Fair's 58th Princess Kay of the Milky Way has been crowned. Mary Zahurones, 18, of Pierz, Minn., will be the goodwill ambassador for the state's 4,500 dairy farmers.

She was chosen from among a dozen county dairy princesses. Zahurones' reign will start with sitting in a cooler for six hours on the fair's opening day while her likeness is sculpted in a 90-pound block of butter. The 11 other finalists will also be sculpted in butter by Linda Christensen, in her 40th year at the fair. Zahurones will attend the University of Minnesota this fall as a pre-med student studying biology and chemistry.
