Woman, driving drunk, hits cop car making a DWI stop

Last update: December 20, 2007 - 10:00 AM

A driver in St. Cloud is under arrest and suspected of drunken driving after her vehicle crashed into a police squad car that already was making a DWI stop on a different driver.

According to police:

Shortly after 2 a.m. today, police were conducting a DWI investigation in the 400 block of Wilson Street, when a second vehicle struck a parked police squad car. The driver ignored officers' orders to stop and fled.

Police pursued the vehicle until it got stuck in a snowbank.

The driver, a 22-year-old woman from St. Cloud, was arrested on two DWI charges, driving on a revoked license and running a stop sign.

Two other women riding in the car also were arrested after fleeing from police. The women, ages 21 and 23, are from St. Cloud.

No one was hurt in the incident.
