Using storm water as landscaping

The Minnehaha Creek Watershed District spent $1.5 million to make a downtown Mound redevelopment into a show case of how to put storm water run off to good use while creating beauty on the land scape. One technique is this ditch known as a "dry creek" which fills with water when it rains and allows the water to flow along the surface instead of piping it away under ground.
