3 duck hunters pulled out of Shields Lake

FARIBAULT, Minn. — An off-duty sheriff's deputy and another man pulled three duck hunters out of 38-degree water after their boat capsized near Faribault on Friday.

The three men from Owatonna were duck hunting on Shields Lake when their boat capsized around 8:20 a.m.

Rice County Sheriff's Deputy Dan Silkey and another man who live on the lake got the three men to shore.

None of them were seriously hurt.
