St. Cloud State finds swastikas in restroom

Last update: November 20, 2007 - 8:26 PM

ST. CLOUD, MINN. - More swastikas have turned up at St. Cloud State University.

Campus Public Safety Director Miles Heckendorn says several large swastikas were found drawn on a mirror in a seventh-floor men's restroom in the W.W. Holes Residence Hall over the weekend, and a partial swastika had been burned into the bathroom ceiling.

Police are investigating it as a racial incident.

An investigation continues into similar incidents in another campus building, which police have classified as bias-motivated property damage.

Heckendorn says they are concerned about student safety and are focusing on communication and education. Student groups and leadership circles have been meeting to discuss the matter.

Anyone with information is asked to call St. Cloud State public safety at 1-320-308-3333 or St. Cloud police at 1-320-251-1200.
