A St. Cloud man is in jail and his dogs are in quarantine after he attacked his stepbrother Thursday, police said.

The man, 25, allegedly punched his 18-year-old step brother in the face, held a knife to his throat and unleashed his American bulldog, which bit the victim several times, police said.

Police used a search warrant to enter a house at 124 Franklin Av. NE. where they found the suspect and collected evidence. Officers took the suspect into custody. He is being held at the Benton County Jail and faces charges of second degree assault and felony domestic assault.

The suspect's dog was taken away by the St. Cloud Animal Control. It will be held for 10 days, police said.

The victim was treated at St. Cloud Hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
