Melrose hunter dies in fall from tree stand

BEMIDJI, MINN. - A hunter from Melrose, Minn., died after falling 20 feet from a deer stand, authorities said.

According to the Beltrami County Sheriff's Office, Anthony Vossen, 47, fell Saturday morning when the strap holding his portable deer stand broke.

The accident happened east of Bemidji.
