Rollover on I-35 kills man, closes highway

Last update: September 6, 2007 - 10:34 AM

A Northfield man died early this morning in a rollover accident on Interstate Hwy. 35 in Lakeville, the State Patrol said.

The victim, 32, was southbound at County Road 70 at 4:12 a.m. when he lost control of his 2002 Subaru Impreza. He was ejected from the vehicle and then struck by a semi-trailer truck, the patrol said.

It was not immediately clear if the man had been wearing a seat belt.

He was taken to Regina Medical Center in Hastings, but later died. His name has not been released.

The State Patrol closed southbound Interstate Hwy. 35 at County Road 60 for two hours while they cleared the scene and reconstructed the accident.

The road reopened around 6:30 a.m.
