A Champlin man who didn't return from a deer-hunting outing has been found dead, the St. Louis County Sheriff said.

The man, 76, was hunting on property owned by relatives in Canosia Township on Tuesday and was reported missing around 8:45 p.m. A State Patrol helicopter was brought in to help find the man, but searchers on the ground located the man a few hours later, the sheriff said.

The man's death appears to be of natural causes as no evidence of a gunshot wound was present, the sheriff said.

Authorities have not released the man's name and are investigating his death.
