A semitrailer truck exploded at an Eagan trucking company Thursday morning, injuring one employee, said Pat DiIoia, battalion chief for the Eagan Fire Department.

The truck was being serviced in a maintenance facility at Dart Transportation at 850 Lone Oak Rd. when it burst into flames at 10:17 a.m., DiIoia said.

One person who worked at the facility was treated for a minor injury at a hospital and released, DiIoia said.

Employees were evacuated from the building for a short time, but then returned to work. There was minimal damage to the building, but the trailer was a total loss.

No hazardous materials were involved, DiIoia said.

The cause is under investigation.
