Classes are back in session at Prior Lake High School now that authorities have given an all-clear after they searched the building following a bomb threat made this morning.

No bomb was found and students and faculty were allowed back into the building at 12:10 p.m., about three hours after administrators evacuated the school, said Kristi Mussman, a spokeswoman for the Prior Lake-Savage School District.

Erica Kokemueller, a senior, said administrators made an announcement over the public address system at 9:15 a.m. ordering everybody in the school to head directly to the school's football stadium where students were sequestered.

"At first I thought it was just a drill, like a fire drill," said Kokemueller, who was in her third-hour advanced-placement calculus class when she was told to leave the building. "But then they started making a bigger deal out of it and teachers were told to take attendance. That is when I figured it must have some meaning to it."

Mussman said a threat had been made against the school this morning and that about 2,000 students in grades 9 to 12 were moved to the high school's stadium while police tried to determine if the threat was credible.

Police did not release many details about the incident or what the nature of the bomb threat was. However, Mussman said that authorities felt it was serious enough to empty the school at 7575 W. 150th Street as a precaution.

Kokemueller said students and staff left the building in an orderly fashion and that nobody seemed too scared.

No one was injured.
