The boy, whose name was not released and who was riding along with another boy about his age, was flown to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale and his condition was unknown as of 9 p.m., said Lakeville police Sgt. Brigham Trole.

The collision occurred about 5:30 p.m. as the boy and the car were headed west along 185th Street near Ixonia Avenue, Trole said. Investigators have yet to determine what led to the crash.
