A Ramsey man died in an industrial accident Tuesday evening in Brooklyn Center.

Randall L. Puppe, 56, was cleaning a machine at TCR Engineered Components about 9:50 p.m. when he was caught in the machine and killed, Police Lt. Scott Nadeau said Wednesday. He said police and the state Occupational Safety and Health division are investigating.

Puppe was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10 p.m. His accidental death was caused by mechanical strangulation and from blunt-force injuries, the Hennepin County medical examiner's office said.

TCR, in the 1600 block of 67th Avenue N., manufactures highly engineered metal component parts, including specialty fasteners. Its customers include the automotive, industrial-commercial, hydraulic and recreational fields. It employs 160 people, according to its website.
