Lightning sparks 3 blazes in Burnsville

Last update: August 14, 2007 - 12:40 PM

A house, an apartment building and a garage were damaged by fires in Burnsville overnight, and officials believe all three blazes were sparked by lightning.

A house of Victoria Lane was extensively damaged by a fire that was called in just after midnight, the Burnsville Fire Department said. The Apple Valley Department helped fight that blaze.

The apartment fire was on Vincent Av., and was called in about 3:30 a.m. Fire and smoke damaged eight units, the Burnsville Fire Department said.

A garage on Vincent Av. caught fire about 12:30 a.m. The Lakeville Fire Department assisted Burnsville in putting out that blaze.

The Burnsville Fire Department received a dozen calls between midnight and 4 a.m., and the department then called on Apple Valley and Lakeville for assistance.
