Authorities are looking for two dogs that bit a 5-year-old girl in northeast Minneapolis on Saturday to determine whether the dogs shots are up to date, WCCO-TV is reporting.
Elizabeth Marsolais was bitten more than 12 times by the dogs, which resembled cocker spaniels, her mother, Marin said.
Marin Marsolais told WCCO that she isn't upset with the dogs' owner, but wants them to come forward so they can check on the status of the dogs' shots.
The treatment plan for Elizabeth is significantly more serious without knowing the status of the dogs, the station said.
Elizabeth was riding her tricycle near her home when she was attacked. She was bitten on her back and legs, her mother told WCCO.
The dogs ran off after the attack and may have attacked another person nearby.
Elizabeth was treated at Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, WCCO said. She did not require stitches.
Contact Minneapolis Animal Control with information about the dogs.
