Hwy. 7 detour to begin in Hutchinson

Last update: April 26, 2006 - 12:23 PM

HUTCHINSON, Minn. -- Drivers face a detour on Hwy. 7 in Hutchinson starting today.

Minnesota Department of Transportation officials say the detour should be in place by this afternoon.

It's part of a $29 million reconstruction project for Hwy. 7.

The two-year project officially began Monday. Work will be done in three phases over the next two construction seasons.

The project includes reconstruction and improvements on Hwy. 7 and replacement of the dam and bridge on the Crow River on Hutchinson's Main Street.
