St. Cloud police said Thursday they are wrapping up their work on the death of a St. Cloud State University student after autopsy tests showed he had a high blood-alcohol level when he drowned accidentally, police said.
The Benton County coroner found student Scot Radel's blood-alcohol level was 0.215 percent, more than twice the legal driving limit, when he drowned. Police talked to his father this week before releasing the coroner's findings, Capt. Richard Wilson said.
"There was no sign of any criminal activity involved in case," Wilson said.
The 21-year-old from Owatonna, Minn., disappeared Feb. 2 after spending a night out with friends. After an extensive search, his body was found March 1 in the Mississippi River. The coroner found no sign of drugs or disease in Radel's body.
