Joshua C. Hanes saw the whole thing, then got rid of the car and gun used in the Aug. 18 shooting death of Sean Gibbs near the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, according to charges filed Monday. Hanes, 18, of St. Paul, was charged in Ramsey County District Court with aiding an offender, a felony.
The complaint said that Hanes was riding in a car with Antonio Thelen when they pulled alongside Gibbs' car at Kellogg Boulevard and Smith Avenue. All three got out of the cars, according to the complaint, and Thelen shot Gibbs. Thelen, 32, of St. Paul, was charged last month with second-degree murder.
