Man shot in home invasion

Last update: March 10, 2006 - 1:18 PM

COLD SPRING, Minn. — Stearns County authorities said a man about 45 years old was shot in Cold Spring after several men with guns entered the home where he lived with seven other people.

Sheriff John Sanner said the victim was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital, where he underwent surgery Thursday night. Sanner said the victim's name isn't being released because the suspects are still at large.

He said the crime doesn't appear to be random and police believe the shooting was drug related.

He said authorities are looking for three or four men who have one or two guns. The sheriff said no description of the suspects or a vehicle is available because witnesses gave conflicting reports.
