Afraid of the stain? Don't worry

Last update: August 23, 2007 - 9:13 PM

Last year, the Minnesota State Fair introduced hot dish on a stick. A few years ago, it was deep-fried candy bars. And this year's novelty item?

How about stain remover on a stick?

Visitors to the fair's Eco Experience Building on Thursday received sample-sized bottles of EnzAway, a stain remover from Minneapolis-based Restore Products. And on a stick, no less.

The 1-ounce bottles contain an all-purpose concentrated cleaning product that Restore says is nonpetroleum-based, nonhazardous and biodegradable. And the regular-sized bottles can be refilled with EnzAway at many Twin Cities cooperatives and grocery stores.

"It's the ultimate State Fair product," said Restore company founder Laurie Brown. "People enjoy eating everything at the fair. And I can greet someone by saying, 'Sir, let me get that mustard out of that shirt.'"
