A pump house to store the liquid potassium will be located at the bridge, with a holding capacity of 3,170 gallons. The liquid will be pumped to plumbing under the bridge that will send the fluid to each nozzle, Strobel said.

The system is expected to function for 10 to 15 years, Xiong said.
