The girls' story

Last update: August 16, 2006 - 4:06 PM

Abbigail and Isabelle Carlsen were born Nov. 29 in Minneapolis. They were conjoined at the chest and abdomen. The twins entered the Mayo Clinic in Rochester in late February, when they were 3 months old. On May 12, they underwent a successful daylong surgery to separate them.

LITTLE PITCHERS

The girls -- with the help of their parents -- will throw out the opening pitch at the Minnesota Twins game next Sunday, July 30, at the Metrodome.
