A litter of three Asian small-clawed otters, the first born at the Minnesota Zoo since 1994, are now on exhibit for the first time since their birth in late July. The pups, two males and one female, have been under the close watch of their parents since their birth July 24. Adult otters care for their young for two to five years. This species of otters are usually found in southern India, China, Southeast Asia, Indonesia and the Philippines. At about 2 feet in length and 10 pounds, the species is among the world's smallest otter. The otter exhibit is along the zoo's Tropics Trail.
