Tips for teenage drivers

Last update: November 7, 2007 - 9:16 PM

Keep your ears off your cell phone, your hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road.

Always buckle up. Teens and young adults have the lowest seat-belt use rate and 75 percent of teens killed weren’t wearing seat belts.

Obey speed limits.

Don’t drive when drowsy. Teens ages 16 and 17 are three times more likely to crash at night then those driving during the day. Crashes are the leading cause of deaths for Minnesota teens.
