Minnesotans are suckers for sports anthems, from the original We're Gonna Win Twins to the Hormel Row of Fame song (discontinued by a change of official hot dogs by the Twins) to the State of Hockey song intended to fire up fans at Wild games. (Yes, we know that's not a link to the original State of Hockey song. We prefer the house version, featuring Jearlyn Steele.)
A few weeks back, local musician Nato Coles decided that Byung Ho Park's cheer song from his Korean team, the Nexen heroes, needed a Minnesota cover version. We agree.
So here it is. We'll expect to hear it from now on whenever Park homers at Target Field.
The photo comes from a Twins ad promoting the Bomber Hat giveaway later this month.
Nato Coles and the Blue Diamond Band are at the Eagles Club on East 25th Street in Minneapolis this Friday night.
But for now, put on your headphones (if you're at work or on the bus) and listen.
Two bonus videos for getting this far.
Here's the Nexen Heroes version, complete with dance moves:
And here's the 462-foot home run from Saturday afternoon that resulted in @OldManBall bringing this to our attention.
