• Take pictures of items donated for proper documentation for the IRS.
• Only items in good and better condition are eligible for a tax deduction. Items in fair or poor condition can be donated but are not deductible.
• Deductions cannot be made for more than the original price paid for an item. Antiques, for example, should be sold rather than donated to get maximum value.
