Roadtrippers take note: Red Roof Inn is hoping to offset the price of travel this summer by handing guests a coupon book when they check in. The books include national retail coupons as well as discounts for local restaurants and services -- and a 20 percent off coupon on a stay at Red Roof through September 30. The hand-out began in June and will run through August, or until the hotel runs out of coupon books.

That's up from 7,000 that participated in last year's summer sale. Plus this year, you may encounter perks such as gift cards and spa services. The sale runs now through August. To book, go here.
