Recipes: Irish whiskey cocktails

Serves 1.

Note: Orgeat is an almond-flavored syrup, found at liquor stores or grocery stores, in the coffee aisle with flavored syrups, often labeled as almond syrup. Adapted from “The Savoy Cocktail Book,” by Harry Craddock.

3 tbsp. (1.5 oz.) blended Irish whiskey

• 3 tbsp. (1.5 oz.) blended Scotch

•1 1/2 tbsp. (0.75 oz.) lemon juice

•1 tbsp. (0.5 oz.) orgeat (see Note)

Directions

Combine whiskey, Scotch, lemon juice and orgeat. Shake with ice, strain and serve.
