Well-known Robbinsdale baker wins Martha Stewart contest

A State Fair regular and occasional TV guest, Marjorie Johnson wins Martha Stewart's pie contest.

Last update: November 14, 2009 - 12:15 AM

A Robbinsdale woman has been named the winner of Martha Stewart's first-ever pie contest.

Marjorie Johnson will appear on "The Martha Stewart Show" on Monday and Tuesday to receive her honor and to bake her winning pie, pecan with toffee, with Stewart.

Johnson's dessert was named the best for taste and appearance out of 161 pies brought to Stewart's New York TV studio by each member of a recent studio audience.

In the Twin Cities, "The Martha Stewart Show" airs at 11 a.m. on KMSP.

It's not the first time Johnson has been honored for her baking skills. She's a frequent winner at the Minnesota State Fair and has appeared on "The Tonight Show" with Jay Leno.
