The season for hearty red wines started mighty early this year. Of course, that also provided an opportunity to dig right into such delights as the Rabbit Ridge Allure de Robles Rhône Red. This blend of grenache, syrah, mourvedre and petit sirah provides a lot more layers and depth than any $12 wine has a right to, with dark and medium fruits framed by a lot of backbone. Bring on the roasts and braises.
