Wine: Cantina di Dolianova 'Prendas' Vermentino di Sardegna

Wine

I can’t remember having a bad or even mediocre wine from Sardinia, but the 2013 Cantina di Dolianova “Prendas” Vermentino di Sardegna ($15) is one of the very best, especially at its price point. It has an intoxicatingly complex nose, then delivers green apple, dry but sweet notes, especially on the longish finish. The acidity is spot-on, making this mouthwatering beauty a swell food wine. Fish or fowl, pork or salad, light cheese or fresh tomatoes, all would sing with this white.

Available at France 44, Perrier, Minnehaha, the Wine Shop and BrightWines.
