Wine: Nuntius Blanc 13

  • Updated: August 2, 2014 - 2:00 PM

Wine

Throughout France, there are fairly strict rules about which grapes can be bottled; adding some viognier to a classic Bordeaux blend (sauvignon blanc and sémillon) would be impossible. South Africa has no such strictures, resulting in wines like the delicious 2013 Nuntius Blanc 13 ($12, 71 percent sauv blanc, 26 percent sémillon, 3 percent viognier). There’s great acid/fruit balance in this friendly, refreshing, citrus-and-honey-laden white with the refreshing finish. Try it with fried fish or shrimp, goat-cheese salad (or just goat cheese) or grilled chicken.

Available at Skyway Liquors, Liberty Village, Thomas, Princeton, Central Park, Cork Dork, Haskell’s Chanhassen and others.
