The deluge of new restaurants continues, unabated.

 

Taking Chipotle as a role model, the prepared-to-order fare at Agra Culture Kitchen & Press emphasizes speed and convenience. But thanks to chef Tim Scott, the food also focuses on fresh, imaginative and health-minded fare (including plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options) served at breakfast, lunch and dinner. The on-the-premises juice bar is another plus, as is the detailed nutrition information. The stylish surroundings and beyond-friendly staff should come as no surprise, since the restaurant comes from Yogurt Lab owners Andrea and Aaron Switz.

How great to see yet another food truck matriculate from its mobile home into a permanent location. This time it’s Hot Indian Foods, which has taken over the former Left Handed Cook stand inside the Midtown Global Market. Look for the truck’s signature “Indurritos,” chef Janene Holig’s house-baked roti that are wrapped, burrito-style, around well-seasoned deliciousness along the lines of tender chicken simmered in a tomato-curry sauce or slow-braised lamb. Lunch and dinner daily.

Lolo American Kitchen & Craft Bar co-owners Brad Nordeen and Joe Ehlenz should be familiar faces to Stillwater diners; Nordeen spent more than a decade at Phil’s Tara Hideaway, and Ehlenz is a vet of neighboring Smalley’s Caribbean Barbeque. The eclectic menu focuses on small plates (crab-filled Tater Tots, crostini topped with brie and bacon jam) and the bar specializes in creative cocktails and craft beers. Dinner daily, lunch coming soon.
