Thompson is purchasing the place from Jill Wilson, a former 128 server who bought the 17-year-old restaurant from two of its founders, Natalie and Brock Obee, in 2007.


A Twisted new food truck

Spotted on Marquette Avenue in downtown Minneapolis, and on Mears Park in downtown St. Paul: Another food truck with bricks-and-mortar roots. This time it’s the Twisted Fork Grille (1342 Grand Av., St. Paul,, which is hawking walleye fish cakes, turkey-wild rice wraps, roasted corn-bean burgers, sweet potato chips and more. Saturday and Sunday mornings

Weekend breakfast (served 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.) is now on the menu at the Red Cow (3624 W. 50th St., Mpls., Chef Evan Connelly is preparing pastrami hash, barbacoa beef chilaquiles with a chipotle hollandaise, a pancake flight (red velvet, sweet potato, whole grain with apples), a peanut butter-bacon-and-egg-topped burger, Scotch eggs and more.

Here’s a Saturday tip: Browse the Fulton Farmers Market (4901 Chowen Av. S., Mpls.,, located a block from the restaurant, before or after breakfast. The market is open 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
