From the time the kitchen opens (11 a.m.) until it closes (10 p.m.), it's all-you-can-eat Friday fish fry at Gluek's Restaurant & Bar. The flavors suggest New Orleans: Cajun-style catfish, red beans and rice, hush puppies and coleslaw, for $12.95. Enjoy it with a pint or two of the house honey brown lager, brewed in Cold Spring, Minn.

The Friday fried-fish basket at Red Stag Supperclub is all about choice: tilapia, raised at Future Farm in Baldwin, Wis., cod or walleye, served with coleslaw, chips and a sweet onion tartar sauce. Prices range from $11 for a single serving to $19 for a double, and it's available from 5 to 11 p.m. On the à la carte side, chef Jason Blair also prepares cornmeal-breaded calamari, steamed mussels and awesome smelt fries, served with a house-made smoked tomato ketchup.

At the stylish Uptown Cafeteria, the all-you-can-eat fish fry kicks off at 4 p.m. and is served until the doors close at 2 a.m. The menu: cod, fries, coleslaw and a jalapeño-fired tartar sauce, for $15.99.
