Coulda had which V8?Back when Mr. Tidbit was young and dinosaurs roamed the Earth, there was only one kind of V8 juice. If somebody said, "On your way home, pick up some V8," his only reasonable question would have been "Why me?" In recent years that has changed dramatically.

The newest kind of V8 is V8 V-Fusion Smoothies, in three flavors, each 8-ounce serving of which is said to contain half a cup of fruit and half a cup of vegetables. What makes these beverages "smoothies," as opposed to other V8 V-Fusion drinks? In addition to fruit and vegetable juices, there are fruit purées too.

Oh! For the same price as the other V8 V-Fusion drinks' 46-ounce bottles, the smoothies are in 36-ounce bottles.

For the heck of it, dear reader, please allow Mr. Tidbit to enumerate the many kinds of V8 beverages, according to the V8 website:

Original V8 vegetable juice; high-fiber V8, essential-antioxidants V8, low-sodium V8, spicy-hot V8 and low-sodium spicy-hot V8, all with, as Mr. Tidbit reads it, a full cup of vegetables (two servings) per 8-ounce serving; V8 V-Fusion (half a cup of fruit and half a cup of vegetables per serving, in seven flavors), V8 V-Fusion Light (six flavors; each serving contains only a quarter-cup each of fruit and vegetables).

Then there are V8 V-Fusion + tea (three flavors, also only a quarter-cup each of fruit and vegetables per serving), V8 Splash juice drinks (six flavors described as "fruity with a hint of carrot" but no claim of how many servings of fruit or vegetables), two flavors of Splenda-sweetened Diet V8 Splash, and two flavors of V8 Splash Smoothies, a product of which Mr. Tidbit had never heard. And, of course, the three flavors of new V8 V-Fusion Smoothies.

That seems to be 35. Yow.

Pizza Stuffers You know Totino's Pizza Rolls, the little (1/2-ounce) crisp goodies with the pizza-type fillings? Now the freezer case also has Totino's Pizza Stuffers, much bigger (31/2- ounce) versions, four to the box. The new ones cost about 17 percent more per ounce. Naturally.
