The lights are back on at 6001 Shady Oak Rd., Minnetonka, (right across the parking lot from Sherlock's Home), in the space formerly occupied by Konrad's Bistro and Toros of Aspen.
The new occupant is the Breakers Restaurant, a seafood restaurant with a Carribean and Mediterranean flavor.
The menu, created by chef Richard Leitzman, formerly of the Blue Pointe in Wayzata, features such dishes as fresh Bahamian squid, grilled, deep-fried or sauteed; Dungeness crab cakes; smoked shrimp and pumpkin seed quesadilla; sauteed wild striped sea bass with a clam, tasso ham, tomato and basil sauce; and seafood paella.
But there's more to the menu than just seafood -- other items include several steaks, coq au vin, a veal stew, and several pastas. Dinner prices range from $9.95 for a steak sandwich to $20.95 for sauteed Maine diver scallops over truffle mashed potatoes.
An early-evening menu offers lower prices, including roasted vegetable and shrimp linguine ($9.50), lasagna ($8.95) and Louisiana etouffee ($9.25).
Breakers Restaurant, 6001 Shady Oak Road., Minnetonka, 612-988-9968. Lunch Monday through Saturday 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., dinner Sunday through Thursday 4 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 4 to 10:30 p.m. Wheelchair accessible.
