ABOUT THE CONTEST (AND

WHAT THEY WON) Our "Kids Who Cook" essay contest was inspired by the debut of Emeril Lagasse's Emerilware Children's Set cookware. Winner Chris Betten won our initial cookware set -- which includes a 2-quart saucepan and lid, kid-size utensils, an apron, a sample of Emeril's Baby Bam Essence spice and his "There's a Chef in My Soup" cookbook -- as well as a gift certificate to a Twin Cities-area kitchen store. The folks at Emerilware heard about our contest and BAM! -- our five runners-up received a set of cookware, too.
