NEW YORK - In fashion, timing is everything. That was definitely true for the "Project Runway" finale show that was taped during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week on Friday.

Due to the timing of the episodes, 10 designers showed collections, which meant all those currently in competition except for Maya Luz (a mysterious exclusion). For previous seasons, the show has only aired the top three or four designers. Monique Darton of Brainerd, a "Models of the Runway" contestant, walked for Anthony Williams.

Season six contestant Christopher Straub of Shakopee attended and reunited with many of his cast mates. "It's surreal to be here again," he said. While waiting to get in, he met Marie Claire editor-in-chief Joanna Coles (judge Nina Garcia's magazine boss) who asked him to bring by samples of his accessories collection (available on ShopNBC).

Straub watched the show from the third row. "I was able to be judgmental this time," he said.

While Garcia, Michael Kors, Heidi Klum and guest judge Faith Hill will make the final decision, Straub thought Ben Chmura, Mila Hermanovski and Anthony Williams had the strongest collections.

Of course, everyone will have to wait to find out until the finale airs on Lifetime in mid-April.
