It's hot: Paris to host Minnesota casino's beach bash

Members of the White Earth Band of Chippewa won't always have Paris, but they'll have her for one night next month.

Paris Hilton, that is.

The band announced that Hilton, at right, will appear at its Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen on Jan. 30. Better known for a notorious sex video than any of her creative accomplishments, Hilton is being billed as the host of a "Brrriffic Beach Bash" that night.

The band hasn't specified exactly how Hilton will perform, but hyped her appearance on its website this way:

"The weather might be cold outside, but inside Shooting Star on January 30th it will be sunny and warm at our Brrriffic Beach Bash with star host, Paris Hilton!

"We are bringing the beach to you at our beach-themed star party, with music, drawings and more!"

Tickets cost $10. Other events at the casino next month include Elders' Day and a slot machine tournament.

Hilton, an heiress of the hotel empire, first came to widespread public attention when her then-boyfriend released a videotape of the two of them having sex just before her reality TV show "The Simple Life" was broadcast. She was most recently in the news as the inspiration of the "Paris Hilton Syndrome," a disparaging name animal shelter staffers coined to describe a plague of Chihuahuas that has overwhelmed them. She famously paraded her Chihuahua Tinkerbell before the cameras a few years ago, apparently amping up the breed's popularity.
