People: Tales and lowlights from the D list

Last update: November 2, 2009 - 5:30 AM

TALES FROM THE D LIST

Celebrities say (and do) the darnedest things. A few lowlights from the famous-people ticker:

Item: Randy Quaid and his wife, Eli, are on the lam again and facing extradition.

Reaction: Not sure if he's on a lampoon-able European vacation or is about to fly a fighter plane into a spaceship and save the world.

Item: Chaz (nee Chastity) Bono, amid a months-long sex-change operation, told "Entertainment Tonight" that "I believe that gender is something between your ears, not between your legs."

Reaction: Sorry, thinking too much about this would make my head explode.

Item: Dennis Hopper has prostate cancer.

Reaction: Oh, man, that is a @$%#-ing bummer.

Item: Jon Gosselin has a new spiritual adviser: a rabbi.

Reaction: Oy vey, will this schlemiel ever go kaput?

Item: Jessica Simpson laid out for "Extra" the qualities she is looking for in a man: "Intellectual ... artistic ... confident."

Reaction: Well, they do say opposites attract, so Simpson might just be in luck.
